Masters Management Engineering

This track includes a combination of coursework in engineering, management, and business. 

It is primarily intended for students with at least 2 years of work experience, whose career path is
likely to include a position such as “chief engineer”.
Students are required to select 12 units of coursework from a predefined set of courses.
In addition, they are required to take at least 9 units of elective engineering coursework
and 6 units of coursework in business fundamentals.
Students pursuing the M. Eng. Degree via this curricular track are required to complete a final report,
which provides a critical analysis of a topic that is appropriate to the plan of study and is subject to approval by the advisory committee.

All students are required to complete a “Final Paper” (1 unit).
This paper must be appropriate to the student’s plan of study,
and is subject to the approval of the student’s advisory committee.

Additional coursework will be decided between the student and a faculty advisor.
Students are required to complete their Plan of Study by the end of their second semester.
You will meet with the graduate advisor and faculty advisor to complete this process.

Engineering Electives (9 units):
Students must complete 9 units of elective engineering coursework. 
These courses are subject to the approval of the advisory committee, and may include courses listed above that exceed the individual requirements.
 

Engineering Math (3 units):
Students must complete 3 units of a graduate level mathematics course that is appropriate to the chose engineering electives.
Example of such course is SIE 530. This course is subject to the approval of the advisory committee.
 

Business Fundamentals (6 units):
Students must complete 6 units of coursework in fundamental business topics, including but not limited to: finance, marketing, accounting, and supply chain management.
These courses are subject to the approval of the advisory committee, and may be transferred from a non-affiliated institution.
Examples of such courses include Project Administration   (online), SIE 515 Technical Sales & Marketing (online)
and SIE 567 Financial Modeling for Innovation (online)

Final Report (1 unit):
All students are required to complere a "Final Report" ( 1 unit).
This report must be appropriate to the student's plan of study, and is subject to the approval of the student's advisory committee.
